Everactive Machine Vibration Monitor (MVM 2.0)
Batteryless wireless vibration monitoring for motors, pumps, fans, compressors, and gear boxes.

Every other wireless vibration sensor on the market needs batteries swapped every 1–5 years, which makes plant-wide instrumentation economically impossible at fleet scale. The MVM 2.0 harvests its own operating energy from a thermal differential, indoor solar, or outdoor solar — once installed, sensors report continuously until the equipment they monitor is decommissioned. That changes the deployment calculus: utilities can finally instrument every motor and pump in a treatment plant instead of just the most expensive few.
The MVM 2.0 is the second-generation sensor — the first generation proved the energy-harvesting concept in field deployments, and 2.0 added longer-life cable connections, more reliable data delivery, and improved waveform quality for analytics workflows. Nova distributes Everactive sensors, the matching gateways, and the Evernet 2.0 cloud subscription as a packaged condition-monitoring solution.
Key features
Self-powered
No batteries, no maintenance.
Harvests operating energy from thermoelectric differentials (≥15 °F across the housing), indoor solar (≥66 lux), or outdoor solar. Sensors report continuously from installation until the monitored equipment is decommissioned — no battery swap schedule to maintain across a fleet.
Continuous sensing
Velocity, FFT peaks, and g-peaks every minute.
Always-on monitoring captures velocity, the 9 highest FFT peaks, and g-peaks up to 3.2 kHz Fmax every minute, with full time-waveform once daily. Range 6 Hz – 3.2 kHz at 4096-line resolution detects unbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing defects, and cavitation.
Wireless mesh
Up to 800 ft per hop on sub-GHz Evernet 2.0.
Evernet 2.0 mesh covers up to 800 ft from sensor to gateway with OTA configurability. Sub-GHz operation penetrates plant infrastructure better than 2.4 GHz, reducing the gateway count needed for plant-wide coverage.
Ratings
IP66 and Class I Division 2.
IP66 ingress protection and Class I Division 2 certification suit treatment plants, pump stations, and other industrial environments. The sensor housing is engineered for permanent outdoor or process-area installation.
